Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is available for children (starting at 10 years old), teens, adults, and older adults to address a variety of issues, including a recent or past history of trauma, loss, betrayal, life changes, lack of energy or motivation, self-doubt, relationship problems, behavioral and emotional problems with children and teens, parenting, managing stress, lack of support, etc. With children and teen clients, along with individual therapy, I may suggest family therapy, to help with parenting and strengthening family connections. We can discuss individualized services in consultation.

Couples Therapy
Couple's therapy addresses various problems related to communication, addictions, co-dependency, abuse, betrayal, lack of reciprocity, roles and expectations, differences in values (trust, honesty, respect, integrity), differences in spiritual, cultural or religious values, compatibility, "growing apart," lack of intimacy, power and control issues, etc. Couple's therapy will look at factors contributing to relational problems (such as those stemming from family of origin, etc.). Therapy can address how to negotiate, resolve, heal, reconcile and move forward if this is what both parties desire in therapy. I address the issue of safety, comfort, no-secrets and non-judgement in the initial consultation and first session. This work will require commitment and dedication to each other.

Family Therapy
Family therapy is where family members are able to express and be heard in a safe, nonjudgmental and gently mediated setting. It is usually requested when there is a child, teen or parent whose behavior/emotional problems are affecting the family. We will look at factors such as alliances, rules, authority, power dynamics, expression of emotions, communication, validation, feelings of safety and security, boundaries, etc. Usually, the goals of the family is to strengthen their bond, rapport, love and care for each other. In a blended family setting, there are complexities to work through.

Custody Evaluation: A 730 evaluation is an evaluation from a court-appointed expert to conduct a child custody evaluation according to California Rules of Court 5.220. A 730 evaluation includes: (1) “Interviewing parents conjointly, individually, or both conjointly and individually (unless contraindicated in cases involving domestic violence), to assess:" for a variety of information including history of involvement in caring for the child, methods used towards resolution of custody conflict, history of child abuse or domestic violence.
